Physical DescriptionLarge round commemorative coin celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the statehood of the Republic of Armenia. The obverse of the coin depicts a stylized image of Mount Ararat with a sunrise behind the mountain. To the lower right of the of the mountain is the Coat of Arms of Armenia. The reverse of the coin has a stylized depiction of the Armenian flag which is red, blue, and orange. "25 years [years in Armenian] is engraved on top of the flag. Both sides of the coin has various informational engravings. The right side of the coin has a detailed depiction of the khachkar (Armenian Cross Stone) of the Geghard monastery. The coin is held in a plastic case.Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of the 2016 Nuclear Summit.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
