Physical DescriptionSterling silver and turquoise fountain pen by Montegrappa Italia. The pen's barrel is dark blue with silver detailing and a silver outline of Kazakhstan and its fourteen regions. The cap is embossed with the emblem of Kazakhstan in silver and the top of the cap is engraved with the emblem on the Kazakh flag. The end of the pen clip has a small circular turquoise stone attached. The cap screws onto the barrel of the pen.Historical NoteReceived at the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, DC in April 2016.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
