Physical DescriptionA Waterford Crystal bowl with scalloped rim and five etched panels. Two panels are etched with wheat stalks. The other three panels are frosted and etched to commemorate the 1916 Easter Rising, the establishment of the General Post Office (which was the headquarters for the Easter Rising), and a passage from the proclamation of the Irish Republic.Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of an official foreign state visit to the White House by Irish Taoiseach Enda Kenny in March 2016 for use in the Shamrock Ceremony for St. Patrick's Day.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
