Physical DescriptionStrapless floor length evening gown with black netted overlay above a blue silk layer with embroidered 'marina' blue flowers accented with gold metallic thread. Flowers are sectioned into horizontal bands with solid black bands between. Dress has matching scarf made of the same netted material with flower detailing embroidered on both short ends.
Historical NoteFirst Lady Michelle Obama wore this evening gown at the 45th Annual Congressional Black Caucus Phoenix Awards Dinner on September 19, 2015.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the First Lady and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
