Physical DescriptionMonopoly board game, U.S. Coast Guard Edition, consisting of a game board (.a), two dice (.b-c), 6 pewter game pieces (.d-i), blue plastic "District" pieces (.j), orange plastic "Sector" pieces (.k), Lucky Bag cards (.l), All Hands cards (.m), deed cards (.n), and paper money (.o). The game board features the U.S. Coast Guard logo in the center over a photograph of a helicopter hovering over a body of water at sunset. The game pieces are in the shapes of two varieties of ships, a helicopter, an anchor, a compass, and a lighthouse.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
