Physical DescriptionDark gray Vanmoof step-in frame bicycle with the name "MICHELLE" spelled out in silver lettering on both sides of the top tube, as well as the word "VANMOOF" spelled out in silver lettering on both sides of the chain stay. There is a white LED headlight built into the front-most part of the top tube as well as a red LED tail light attached underneath the bicycle's saddle. The chain has a black metal and plastic chain guard surrounding it. The handlebars contain two brake levers, a paddle gear shifter, and a silver bell. Both wheels have a mechanical disk brake and the rear wheel contains an internal gear box. There is a black metal fender over the front and back wheels and there is a black kickstand attached to the bottom of the frame.

Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
