Physical DescriptionBlack and red NASCAR racing helmet with Jimmy John's logo decals throughout the surface of the helmet. Autographed by Kevin Harvick with a silver marker on the front screen of the helmet along with the phrase "To President Obama". In the interior, there is a small metal bar rod that streches across the interior obverse side of the helmet that is non-removable and used to mount the helmet.Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of a ceremony at the White House to honor 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Kevin Harvick and his Stewart-Haas Racing team members on April 21, 2015.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
