Physical DescriptionCommemorative red and gold coin from the 5th Anniversary of the Proclamation of H.H. Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Saber as the Amir of the State of Kuwait (2006-2011). On the obverse is an image of the Amir and on the reverse is an image of the outline of Kuwait. Both are surrounded by gold arabesque decoration on a red background.Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of President Barack Obama meeting with Gulf Cooperation Council leaders at Camp David, Maryland in May 2015.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
