Physical DescriptionGolf putter (.a) with a black rubber grip and an inscription from the Mayor of Selma stamped in colorful enamel on the bottom of the clubhead. Came with a white plastic clubhead cover (.b) with gray faux fur lining and colorful exterior embroidered decorations of the Ted Moore logo and the outline of Alabama with Selma's location indicated by a red star.Overall - 3D (.b: Cover) H 2 5/8 in x W 6 7/8 in x D 5 1/2 in (6.7 cm x 17.5 cm x 14 cm )
Historical NoteMayor George P. Evans of Selma, Alabama sent this golf putter to President Barack Obama in March 2015, following President Obama's visit to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery Marches.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
