Physical DescriptionPainting on canvas of the word "HOPE" in black over a red white and blue background with white seven white stars within the blue. Two more white stars can be found along the right edge of the canvas. "HOPE" is outlined in yellow, orange, and red rough lines and scratches. The phrase "Yes we can" can be found in between the bottom legs of the H, at the top right of the P, and near the middle of the E. An "I Voted" sticker from Monroe County, Florida is adhered over a white star at the bottom left of the painitng.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
