Physical DescriptionA three-dimensional framed carving of two opposing Chi Wara figures representing antelope (male and female). The figures are attached to fabric background with black and brown geometric patterns. The frame is composed of a green interior and a black exterior with alternating reed wrapped sections.
Historical NoteThis item was received by President Barack Obama during the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit in August 2014.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
