In one hand he is holding a syringe and in the other he holds the end of the stethoscope to the chest of a smiling child who is sitting in his lap. Both the President and child are behind a podium that says, spelled out with stickers, [Nation]al Security Agency. Behind the President in pastel purple and blue are angled depictions of the White House, Capitol Building, and a rocket. The right side of the painting is predominantly a large assortment of colorful flowers. In the bottom right corner there is a person with a distressed expression wearing a hat decorated with the freemason symbol and other emblems. Beneath the figure is a mace with a trident on top and a rifle. On part of the rifle there are gold stickers spelling out "Luther" and black sparkly raised stickers spelling "Ki[n]g".Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration.
