Physical DescriptionSongket made of a red base fabric that contains a design with large points along both of its long edges, sewn in silver-toned thread. There are colorful diamond-shaped designs throughout the entirety of the fabric that have been sewn with green, silver, gold, blue, and purple metallic threads. A quarter of the way down the fabric is a design that runs the width of the fabric and contains green, gold, blue, and purple triangular designs and is bordered and filled-in with silver designs. The back side of the fabric contains the loose threads of the embroidery.

Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
