Physical DescriptionSet of three round pouffe cases to accompany a traditional Nigerian Hausa mat composed of patchwork pieces of primarily white leather ringed with gold vinyl and accented with yellow vinyl flowers with red and green leather detailing. Pattern repeats until the center where there is a large flower with red and green leather petals surrounded by gold vinyl. Underside of the cover is has an undyed tanned leather patch with a zipper down the center for filling the pouffe.Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.
