Physical Description
Physical DescriptionColorful sequined drapo vodou, an art flag associated with the Haitian Vodou religion. The artwork has a red satin border and backing. Handsewn sequins form a border of triangles around the central design, which consists of two sunbursts with crossed lines in the center divided by a purple tree-like figure with "ELYSEE" at the base of the figure. Surrounding these symbols are smaller symbols in the shape of leaves, circles, and stars.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
