Physical DescriptionBlack lacquer replica of a four panel traditional Chinese folding screen. The front of the panels are all painted with different colorful depictions of floral scenes with birds. The top and bottom of each panel has a muted gold-toned painted geometric design. The back of the panels are painted in the same muted-gold tone with depictions of birds at night and poetry.Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
