Physical DescriptionCharcoal gray coat with three wrapped wire buttons closures at the front of the torso. The fabric is embroidered at the cuffs, obverse, and shoulders with rows of a repeating geometric pattern of triangles and circles alternating direction. The coat has subtle shoulder pads and a black lining.

Historical NoteReceived in March 2013 on the occasion of a meeting between President Barack Obama and leaders of Sierra Leone, Senegal, Malawi, and Cabo Verde.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
