Physical DescriptionWhite and maroon ceremonial hood with black backing and embroidered information about the honorary degree awarded to First Lady Michelle Obama. Two plastic buttons with a string in between them are used to secure the hood around the wearer's shoulders.
Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of First Lady Michelle Obama delivering the commencement speech at the Eastern Kentucky University Spring 2012 graduation.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama Administration.
