Physical DescriptionA matching tablecloth set composed of a tablecloth, six placemats, six napkins, and a folding bread bowl. The tablecloth is a mustard tone with a light yellow border that contains red depictions of people in traditional dress playing instruments and dancing. There is a square patch of the design fabric at the center and four corners of the tablecloth. The rectangular placemats are made from the same mustard fabric and a thin matching design fabric surrounding the border with a square of the design fabric sewn to the center. There is a plastic coating on the front and back of the placemats and a diamond pattern is sewn into the mustard fabric. The napkins are made from the same design fabric. The folding bread bowl has the mustard fabric inside and the design material on the exterior, on the handle, and has as a square patch sewn to the center. Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to Marian Robinson during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.
