Physical DescriptionJapanese art calligraphy with a phrase down the left side and four characters in the center. At the bottom left there are two red maker's marks and in the top right corner there are two red maker's marks. The piece is held in a dark wooden frame with curved edges and is matted beneath olive green silk line paper.Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
