Physical DescriptionBlack dress with red hourglass shape created by diagonal bands of black silk georgette that cross the waist in contrast to the red confetti-like textured fabric embellishments handsewn onto bodice and skirt with an ombre effect.
Historical NoteFirst Lady Michelle Obama wore this dress during Election Night on November 4, 2008.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was used by First Lady Michelle Obama during the 2008 campaign. It was managed through the Office of the First Lady and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.
