Each stamp has two civil rights pioneer with their image and name in a photographic montage: May Church Terrell, Mary White Ovington, J.R. Clifford, Joel Elias Spingarn, Oswald Garrison Villard, Daisy Gatson Bates, Charles Hamilton Huston, Medgar Evers, Walter White, Fannie Lou Hamer, Ella Baker, Ruby Hurley. There are six stamps total, each marked 42 cents.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
