Physical DescriptionLacquered ware four section "wajima-nuri" black picture frame in urushi style. When closed there is a scene on the left panel of a bird perched on a flowered branch set against a gold foil background. The same scene is on the interior rightmost panel and interior left most panel. The interior panels that hold photographs are gold with white mat board.Overall - 3D (Open) H 7 1/8 in x W 15 5/8 in x D 4 1/8 in (18.1 cm x 39.7 cm x 10.5 cm )

Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama Administration.
