Physical DescriptionA commemorative box with a small steelpan drum inside and gold colored plaque on the inside of the lid. The steel drum is copper in color with a gold colored inset in the shape of the islands of Trinidad and Tobago on the top and two small gold colored rods affixed to the inner edge pointing inward. An image of a sun is engraved on the exterior of the box along with the Trinidad and Tobago tourism logo.
Historical NoteThe steelpan drum is the national instrument of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
