Physical DescriptionSet of five silver commemorative coins encased in clear plastic issued by the National Bank of Ukraine dedicated to the final tournament of the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship. The largest coin is a 20 Ukrainian Hryvnia and the obverse depicts a stadium above figures of five people playing soccer overlaid on "2012" and the reverse displays a map of Europe with a list of championship years from 1960-2008. The other four coins are each a 10 Ukrainian Hryvnia and with obverses depict a scene from a soccer match and the reverses display a map of Ukraine with a different city highlighted, one is Kyiv, one is Donetsk, one is Lviv, and one is Kharkiv.
Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of the 2012 NATO Summit held in Chicago, Illinois in May 2012.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
