Physical DescriptionTraditional silver hsun-ok offering vessel with a tiered base and tall spire on the lid. The vessel is etched throughout with a floral pattern on both the lid and the bowl. The neck of the base has a repeating pattern of flowers within petals. The lid is tiered and thinning towards the top for the pointed spire.
Historical NoteReceived during President Barack Obama's official state visit to Burma on November 19, 2012. He became the first sitting American president to visit Burma.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
