Physical DescriptionSet of 25 prints of the Atlantic Codex of Leonardo da Vinci from 1962 to 1970. The box is designed to look like a book with an inscription in Italian on a burgundy background designed by sculptor Pompeo Leoni. The prints are from da Vinci's most acclaimed drawings of military subjects, civic and religious architecture, town planning, hydraulics, mechanics, and technologies. Along with this are included studies for paintings and for the human figure. The reverse includes the title and description of each print in Italian and English. Set 18 of 299.

Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
