Physical DescriptionWooden sculpture depicting an Indonesian folklore scene with traditional buildings in the background, figures of people and mythological creatures. To the right of the scene there are people playing various instruments, to the left of the scene there are two folkloric creatures and a woman with a dagger. In the center of the scene there are two people holding umbrellas, a monkey, and an elaborately adorned figure. There is a wooden plaque attached to the front of the sculpture.

Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
