Physical DescriptionDetailed painted ceramic figurine in the shape of an Asian elephant adorned in colorful and gold detailed regalia. The elephant is decorated with gold-toned jewelry on tusks and ankles with a traditional hat and blanket. Paint detailing on the elephant adds speckling at the ears, eyes, and trunk. The elephant stands on a red velvet base that has a gold wooden trim and has a glass and gold lid that notches on top.Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of an Ambassador Credentialing Ceremony at the White House on May 2, 2012.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration.
