Physical DescriptionBlack ink illustration depicting the Church of Ireland at Templeharry, near Moneygall. The building is a single bricked tower with a long single story and arched windows. To the left of the church there is a wall with ivy and there are trees drawn in the background. Handwritten in the open space in the top right of the drawing are the words "Welcome President Obama." The title of the piece and artist information are handwritten in a box at the bottom right.Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of President Barack Obama's visit to Ireland on May 23, 2011. The gifter is the County Manager for Offaly, an area President Obama visited during his trip due to his great-great-great grandfather, Falmouth Kearney, immigrating from Moneygall, a village in the county.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
