Physical DescriptionPrint of a painted canvas mural tribute of Oscar Romero. The print has a multi-colored geometric background. On the left is a priest talking to several people. Below that are two children. In the center is a depiction of a priest in black and white reading from a book. Behind him is a man on his knees covering his face with a cloth. Below him is a depiction of a wall with a message written on it. The message reads, "Que Mi Sangre Sea Semilla De Libertad." There is a note painted in the center that reads, "Sime Matan. Resucitare En El Pueblo Salvadoreno." To the right of that is a priest sitting with a woman to the right and a boy to the left. Next to the woman is a child holding a sign that says, "mi amor es el pueblo." On the right side of the print is a priest comforting a child while another holds the cross that hangs from his necklace. To the right of them it reads,"cuanto vale para mi que un nino me tenga la confianza de abrazarme!"Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
