Physical DescriptionBlack wood jewelry box with four embroidered panels (top, front, two sides). The background of the panels is purple silk, and the embroidery depicts birds and landscapes. Faux velvet piece inside, not attached to bottom. The item was embroidered at the Okim Chang workshop (Kukje Embroidery) in Seoul, South Korea.Historical NoteReceived from President Lee Myung-bak and First Lady Kim Yoon-ok of South Korea during a state visit to the White House visit in October, 2011.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
