Physical DescriptionRed shawl with cream overlay and has cream tassel fringe. The outer section is red with cream overlay of geometric batik designs. The inner section is red with cream overlay and purple, blue, green and orange batik flowers in a cross-hatch design.
Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of the 2011 Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit held in Honolulu, Hawaii from November 12-November 13.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
