Physical DescriptionPhysical DescriptionWooden bowl made from black walnut and cherry, native West Virginian hardwoods. The cherry body of the bowl is a golden brown color with a dark brown black walnut base and rectangular pieces around the circumference. The edges of the bowl flare outward. The bottom of the bowl has an inscribed message.

Historical NoteThis bowl was created by students from South Middle School in Morgantown, West Virginia during the Spring semester 2009 and gifted to President Barack Obama to commemorate the 2009 election.Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
