Physical DescriptionA statue depicting a desert scene and a removable gold clock on a large circular silver base. The scene contains figures of two Arabian oryx next to a silver tree where the clock hangs. The clock is inset in a wheel-like setting with red decorations around the face and red embellished knobs on the exterior edge. The base is silver with gold embellishments.
Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of a working visit to the White House by Qatari Emir Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani in April, 2011.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
