Physical DescriptionGold and purple Los Angeles Lakers 2009-2010 NBA championship banner. The banner is gold with the Los Angeles Lakers logo in purple at the center, the words "NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION" in purple at the top, and the words "WORLD CHAMPIONS 2009 2010" in bottom at the bottom. The logo and words are surrounded by a purple line in the shape of a shield. The banner is signed in black ink by the players and coaches from the team.Historical NoteReceived at a ceremony honoring the Los Angeles Lakers for winning the 2010 NBA Championship at a Boys and Girls Club event in Washington, DC on December 13, 2010. The Lakers and President Obama joined the organization NBA Cares for a day of education and service projects, rather than the traditional visit to the White House.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama administration.
