Physical DescriptionPainted portrait of the President and First Lady, with an eagle above them and a colorful Haitian TapTap bus with no wheels below. The bus is painted with a patriotic motif the words "Haiti Tap-Tap APATAH". Beneath the bus are the words "First Lady - Michelle Obama - Sign: J.C. Lonkeam's Family Remembrance." The background of the painting is dark green with the words "hope," "victory," "America," and "world" painted in a lighter green bracketing the portrait.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
