Physical DescriptionRed, white, and blue metal hands-free fishing rod holder. The holder consists of a metal rod with a pointed bottom, a horizontal plate approximately 1/3 of the way up from the bottom, and a horizontal plate at the top of the rod. The top horizontal plate has both of its ends slightly bent up with one of the bent ends having a triangular cut out. The end opposite the triangular cutout has a piece of U-shaped silver-toned metal attached to the plate with a wing nut. There are two pieces of black rubber attached to each end of the U-shaped piece of metal.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
