Physical Description
Physical DescriptionPink, cream, and light purple shawl with floral and paisley designs throughout. The pattern has large swirling paisleys at the center of each edge that are lined by gold-toned glass tube beads. Throughout the entire pattern there are spaced-out gold-toned sequins. The center of the shawl has no pattern and is a light purple color. At the short ends of the shawl there is fringe made of the pink and cream threads.

Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to Malia and Sasha Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
