Physical DescriptionSilver racing crash helmet decorated with blue decals and a black band down the back that has neon yellow line art. Throughout the helmet there are brand logos for Lowe's and Chevrolet, Beam Designs, and Levi Strauss. Interior of the helmet has thick gray foam padding and a chin strap. The plastic visor has a blue tint and a silver signature.
Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of a reception at the White House to honor the 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion, Jimmie Johnson.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
