Physical Description"Vancouver 2010" commemorative Olympic gold plated medallion and three gold plated sterling silver nuggets in green presentation card. The medallion depicts a figure raising their arms on the obverse. Above them is a maple leaf and behind them are mountains. Above the person is "Canada" and below them " Vancouver 2010." On the reverse is a depiction of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics mascot above the Olympic rings. Around the edge it reads, "Olympic Winter Games Vancouver 2010 Eux Olympiques Dehiver." They are contained within an informative card.Historical NoteReceived in June 2010 by First Lady Michelle Obama at the Canadian Women of Distinction Brunch during the G8/G20 Summit in Canada.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
