Physical DescriptionPainting on composite wood with triangular flags from different countries around the sides and bottom, with a portrait depicting President Obama framed by stars in the top center above a colorful building with the flags of the United States and Haiti and inscriptions that include quotes related to President Obama and "APATAH; Tap-Tap," an association of artists who paint the colorful tap-tap buses of Haiti. Below this, painted in multiple colors in the bottom center is the phrase "Excellent Barack Obama 44th President of the United States" accompanied by information about the making of the painting. The background of the painting is light yellow.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
