Physical DescriptionOrange pedal-powered bicycle (.a) with "10656" etched into the top tube of the frame. There is brand information printed in blue and white on both sides of the seat tube, the down tube, and the fork. The bike has an internally-geared rear hub and a grip-shift style shifter on the right handle. Attached to the front of the handlebars is a black and blue bag with a company name and logo on its front. There is a black bell attached to the left handle. A black kickstand is attached to the bottom of the frame. The chain has a black and gray plastic cover and the rear wheel has a smokey gray transparent cover attached to the fender. Above the rear fender is a black metal rack with black and blue elastic cords for securing objects. Attached to the seat stay is a black lock that can open and close between the spokes of the rear wheel.

A second identical saddle (.b) is included with the bicycle.
Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of a working visit to the White House by Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende in July 2009.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
