Physical DescriptionRug containing a depiction of President Barack Obama, as seen in his 2009 Official Portrait. There is a red and navy blue border around the entire perimeter of the rug and beige fringe along the entirety of both short ends.Historical NoteReceived as a gift from Gadzhi Makhachev, permanent representative of the Republic of Dagestan to the Russian State Duma, through the United States Embassy in Russia. The gift was given at an event for the U.S. Inauguration at the Spaso House in Moscow.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
