Physical Description"Circassian" dagger in a sheath. The dagger has a metal handle engraved with vines and bands of dots with a gold crown emblem near the end. The blade is straight with a ridge down the center. The sheath is covered with black leather covered with engraved silver in similar patterns near the tip and opening. There is a ridged knob at the end of the sheath.

Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
