Physical DescriptionWood jewelry music box with exterior graphic depicting a village road passing through a forest and leading to a Medieval castle in the hills. Box opens to reveal a plastic man and woman who are dancing. The back has a brass turn key to wind the musical mechanism that causes a couple to twirl once the lid is opened. A rectangular mirror is fastened to the interior of the lid which closes with a gold metal clasp. There are four drawers with silver metal knobs, one on each side of the box.Historical NoteReceived at the 2009 G20 Summit in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to Malia Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
