Physical DescriptionBlack leather purse with rounded corners at the base and triangular tips at the handle. A line of stitched brown thread decorates the edge and outlines an interior pocket. The handle is comprised of eight woven strips of leather secured with polished silver square rings. Closes with a silver-colored zipper. "Casa Lopez" is faintly imprinted in the center of the bag around the outline of the pocket. The leather inside the purse is clay orange, with a black leather zipper pocket attached to an inside pocket, a cellular phone pocket, and a key strap with a silver hook.Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of the 2009 G20 Summit in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
