Physical DescriptionSilver key with two curved teeth and a large key head that has a decorative trim. One side of the key head depicts the Municipal Government Palace in Guadalajara, Mexico. The key shaft on the same side is engraved with "Sr. Barack H. Obama". The other side of the key head depicts the coat of arms of Guadalajara. The shaft of that side is engraved with "Presidente de los Estados Unidos de Norte America".Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of President Barack Obama's trip to Guadalajara Mexico for the annual North American Leaders' Summit in August, 2009.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
