United Kingdom State Visit 20122012
President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama welcomed Prime Minister David Cameron of the United Kingdom and his wife, Samantha Cameron, to the White House for an official State Visit on March 14, 2012. The purpose of the visit was to highlight the foundational relationship between the two countries, especially in regards to joint military ventures. During the visit, the First Lady and Mrs. Cameron attended an Olympic Games-themed event for DC-area children at American University. President Obama and the First Lady also honored Prime Minister Cameron at a State Dinner on the South Lawn of the White House.
