Visit to Senegal 20132013

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama traveled to Dakar, Senegal for an official visit on June 27, 2013. President Obama held a bilateral meeting and joint press conference with President Macky Sall of Senegal at the Presidential Palace and met with regional judicial leaders at the Supreme Court. Later that day, President Obama was joined by his family to tour Gorée Island, a former key trading post for the Atlantic slave trade, which has been turned into a museum to remember the legacy of slavery. That evening, President Obama and the First Lady were honored with an official dinner at the Presidential Palace.
